Piece of Magic Entertainment (POM) has secured a new multi-year partnership with NT Live, becoming the exclusive theatrical distributor for NT Live productions across much of Europe.

The agreement positions POM as NT Live’s new, long-term partner for theatrical distribution in all of Europe, with the exception of Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, Greece and the UK & Ireland where NT Live will continue to self-manage release plans. As their strategic release partner, POM’s footprint in delivering premium theatrical experiences is significantly strengthened with the deal.

The partnership builds on POM’s longstanding experience in multi-territory releases designed around shared audience moments. Recent successes include global fan-driven releases such as Taylor Swift | The Official Release Party of a Showgirl and Iron lung, large-scale live viewing events including the League of Legends World Championship and the yearly recurring cinema concerts of event cinema phenomenon André Rieu; all underscoring the company’s expertise of harnessing cinema as a space for collective cultural experiences.

With NT Live already firmly established as a leader in UK event cinema, generating 15 million admissions since 2009, this deal also represents the next step in the National Theatre’s international expansion strategy.

NT Live broadcasts unmissable theatre from Britain’s most exciting stages to cinemas around the world. Captured live and tailored specifically for the big screen, each production offers audiences the best seat in the house, showcasing award-winning performances from world-class actors that have been seen by more than 13 million people globally to date.

Under the new partnership, POM will distribute NT Live new productions across its territories, alongside a curated selection of titles from previous seasons.

The 2026 season already announced presents a compelling line-up of internationally acclaimed productions, uniting award-winning talent with iconic works of contemporary and classic theatre:

  • All My Sons – Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Hard Truths) star in a five-star, critically acclaimed new production of Arthur Miller’s classic, directed by Ivo Van Hove.
  • The Playboy of the Western World – Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton) joins Éanna Hardwicke and Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls) in John Millington Synge’s riveting play of youth and self-discovery, directed by Caitríona McLaughlin.
  • Les Liaisons Dangereuses – Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread) and Aidan Turner (Rivals) lead a striking new staging of Christopher Hampton’s celebrated adaptation, directed by Marianne Elliott (Angels in America).
  • The Audience – One of NT Live’s most successful productions returns to cinemas for the first time in over a decade, with Academy Award winner Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II in the Olivier & Tony Award-winning hit that inspired Netflix’s The Crown.

Additional titles will be announced later in the year.

Caspar Nadaud, CEO & Founder of Piece of Magic Entertainment, said of today’s announcement:

At a time when event cinema is gaining significant momentum, we see real potential to grow NT Live’s cinema audiences further internationally. Through this long-term partnership, we look forward to making exceptional theatre accessible to even wider audiences and are grateful to NT Live for the trust they have placed in us.”
